Denise joined the committee when her sons were members of the club. They have moved on, but she is still there keeping a watchful eye on the young sailors (and committee) on and off the water.
David is our much loved and dynamic Senior Instructor. A fund of ideas both on and off the water. He and John Hallas are often to be found at Aldeburgh Yacht Club sailing their K6..
John’s tireless talents are always at our disposal ensuring the smooth running of the club, organising our membership and bank accounts!
Colin’s enthusiasm for sailing led him to obtain his Instructor qualification in order to pass on his skills to our young people. He is our resident rudderless expert.
Jim is a well established Instructor. He used to help with YPA when his children were members. He then left to sail and instruct at Orford Sailing Club, where he sails a Wayfarer. He has now once again found the time to help at YPA. We welcome Jim back as part of the team.
Stephen was a keen member of YPA in the 1990s. He moved away from the area to go to university and, having successfully graduated, now lives and works locally.
Graham is one of our success stories. Joining YPA at the age of 11, he has worked his way through the RYA scheme, and now holds a Power boat and Sailing instructor certificate. He has enjoyed some extensive off-shore sailing including North Sea and Channel crossings.
Ed joined YPA at the age of 10 and made his way up through the groups, and joined instructing with us in 2012. Ed is a keen photographer and also the push behind our new website.
David hasn’t written anything about himself yet! Maybe he’s a secret spy?
